2023 has been a great year for Ultimately Better, working with a huge variety of clients spanning multiple industries and niches in the UK, Europe and beyond. As the year draws to an end, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our valued clients for putting your faith in Ultimately Better for your WordPress website needs this year and in previous years. We’re looking forward to 2024 and sharing a few of the exciting things that are on the horizon for our hard-working team.

2023 in numbers
- 1: (At least): Number of times Jem has accidentally uploaded stuff to the wrong server.
- 3: Members of staff on the permanent team, since recruiting Steph this year. Watch this space, we are taking on another junior in the new year!
- 5: Number of new websites we’ve launched.
- 10%: Net increase in our takings since last year.
- 11: Websites we’ve optimised the heck out of.
- 23: New clients we’ve taken on.
- 52: Total clients we’ve worked with.
- 99.999%: Average uptime for client websites we host
- 800%: Increase in website visitors in 2023 compared to last year.
- 9889230423885: Number of coffees drunk. Just kidding, we weren’t counting. There aren’t enough fingers in the world to add this up. That number is probably a little on the small side.
Other things we didn’t count:
- Number of websites we’ve removed divi and elementor from: Not enough.
- Total number of emails sent: Too many.
Things we’re looking forward to in 2024:
Welcoming Steph into the fold has been one of the most exciting things that happened here at Ultimately Better in 2023. Bringing in fresh new talent is always exciting, and she’s brimming with new ideas and enthusiasm. Being fully remote doesn’t stop us from being a powerful team. In fact, it allows us all to have the breathing space to let our own creative juices flow, whilst bouncing off each other when we need to. We may be biased, but it feels like a pretty perfect work setup to us.
That’s why we’re delighted to be expanding our team again in the new year. We’ll be taking on another junior developer because the Ultimately Better team have plenty of experience to go round, and it’s important to us to be involved in supporting future developers as they start out in their careers.
We’ll also be relaunching our website in the new year with a whole new look and feel. You may have spotted a change in our social media accounts recently and it won’t be long before you notice a new look over here as well.
Not everything is changing around here though, we are very supportive of the mantra that if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. We look forward to empowering more clients into utilising Gutenberg and the WordPress full site editing experience in 2024.
Next year, we’re looking forward to partnering with a number of local agencies to expand their development capacity. This is part of our white label WordPress development work. We take on both ongoing contracts and one-off projects, for which we offer a “drop-in” freelance developer service. Get in touch to find out more.
Last but not least, we can’t wait to head to Torino, Italy next year for WordCamp Europe 2024. This informal, community-organised gathering of WordPress enthusiasts allows us to meet like minded developers and share ideas. It is very apt that the city chosen for WordCamp 2024 is well known for its history as a breeding ground for innovation.
2023, it’s been fabulous. Onwards and upwards to 2024!
