GO7

The Brief

GO7 approached Ultimately Better with an extensive set of creative concept including initial wireframes, brand guidelines and animation examples – created by Nick Koch – in November 2022. The project launch had an immoveable go-live deadline of February 2023.

Requiring a complete WordPress build, GO7 emphasised the importance of having a visually striking people-first website to stand out from the crowd in the tech travel industry.

What We Did

Utilising the comprehensive groundwork set within the creative assets provided by the designer, we built a highly bespoke Gutenberg-based WordPress theme.

Taking advantage of Gutenberg block patterns and several custom blocks, we were able to build a completely modular WordPress theme that would allow GO7 to internally manage their content going forwards, including allowing for the creation of new pages in keeping with the look and feel set out in the original designs.

Challenges

GO7 were keen to add a range of animations in order to have a website that stood out from the crowd. The designer provided complex prototypes to support his ideas and we were keen to deliver on the animations whilst maintaining a balance of accessibility and high performance; we worked with the Greensock JavaScript animation library to deliver these results.

During the development, several major changes were released to the Gutenberg project which meant we had to constantly adapt to keep our bespoke theme code future-proof, giving GO7 the internally content-managed modular build they required.

Results

The GO7 site is feature-rich, future-proof and responds beautifully across a multitude of devices.

With a tight deadline, we had to work quickly without compromising on quality to deliver the project as required.

Ultimately Better successfully hit the GO7 launch deadline allowing the client to push ahead with their scheduled press releases.
